Richmond County Bank Ballpark

The Richmond County Bank Ballpark at St. George is a 6,500-seat stadium built to accommodate the Staten Island Yankees (http://www.siyanks.com ) a class A minor league team. The architectural design of the new ballpark includes strong references to its waterfront surroundings and offers fans incredible views of Manhattan. The ballpark features an intimate playing field similar to Yankee Stadium. The left and right fieldlines measure 320 feet; deep center is 401 feet. The concourse is open to the field as well as to views of the Manhattan skyline and the Statue of Liberty. The ballpark offers access to the waterfront esplanade and bikeway system as well as to the Staten Island Ferry Terminal. In addition to home baseball games, the ballpark will host concerts, other sporting events and non-commercial New York City events.

Special features of the ballpark include 18 luxury suites ringing the upper level of the park. Each seats 14, with a maximum capacity of 20, the Staten Island Yankees Team Store, a souvenir stand near the right field gate, a free-standing souvenir stand as well as a large video display and score board on its back wall in center field. There is also a kosher food kiosk, said to be the only one of its kind in the minor leagues.

The ballpark is used by a number of constituencies. First and foremost are Staten Island Yankees fans. The team is in its third season of play and attracts a core of game attendees.
